The iTunes media software allows you to add album artwork of your own making or official artwork that iTunes cannot find automatically with just a few mouse clicks. You can add any JPEG or GIF file to your iTunes albums, and it will be displayed in iTunes as well as on iPhones and applicable iPods.

Open iTunes and highlight the album you want to add artwork to in the "Albums" column.
Type "Command + I" ("Ctrl + I" for Windows users) and click "Yes" when prompted as to whether you want to change information for multiple items. Make sure the "Info" tab is highlighted in the resulting dialogue box.
Locate and open the album artwork image you want to add. Click and drag the image into the "Artwork" field of the "Multiple Item Information" dialogue box. Click "OK." Click "Yes" in the following dialogue box. The album artwork is now associated with the album you selected.
