SWF is a file extension used by Adobe Flash files. These files can contain graphics, text, video and audio. If you want to use only the audio portion of a Flash file, use conversion software to extract the sound and convert it to MP3. This is helpful if you no longer have access to the original soundtrack for a file that you've created, or if you want to listen to the audio while you're on the go.
