    Folding Cardboard

  1. 1

Lay your cardboard on a flat surface.

  2. 2

Lay your ruler down where you would like your fold to be. Trace against the ruler with your pencil.

  3. 3

Turn your ruler so it is perpendicular to your cardboard (instead of flat against it) and press down creating a dent or crease. If your cardboard is longer than your ruler, repeat these steps until you have a crease running the length desired.

  4. 4

Leave your ruler against the cardboard and fold one side up against the width of the ruler. This creates a straight fold. Continue folding against the ruler to fold the desired length.

Tips and warnings

  • Use the craft knife to create a shallow cut along the crease to make an even cleaner fold. Be careful not to cut through. Be aware that cutting the cardboard may take away some structural integrity.
