- craft knife (optional)
Lay your cardboard on a flat surface.
Lay your ruler down where you would like your fold to be. Trace against the ruler with your pencil.
Turn your ruler so it is perpendicular to your cardboard (instead of flat against it) and press down creating a dent or crease. If your cardboard is longer than your ruler, repeat these steps until you have a crease running the length desired.
Leave your ruler against the cardboard and fold one side up against the width of the ruler. This creates a straight fold. Continue folding against the ruler to fold the desired length.
Tips and warnings
- Use the craft knife to create a shallow cut along the crease to make an even cleaner fold. Be careful not to cut through. Be aware that cutting the cardboard may take away some structural integrity.
