Adobe Audition, formally known as Cool Edit Pro, is an audio editing program used to mix and master audio tracks for both movies and sound tracks. There are many different plug-in downloads available for the Cool Edit Pro program, including Auto Tune. This application automatically adjusts the levels on your program, reducing the amount of time it takes to master your track. However, before you can begin using the auto tune feature you need to download the application and set it up.

Open your internet browser and navigate to the Auto Tune download page (see Resources). Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the download link. In a moment the plug-in begins to download to your computer.

  2. 2

Double-click the downloaded file (it appears either in a downloads pop-up window or on the desktop). This opens a prompt asking if you are sure you want to access the downloaded file. Click "Yes" and the installation wizard appears on the screen.

  3. 3

Accept the license agreement of the Auto Tune application.

  4. 4

Click "Next" for the installation name and location. Changing either movies the application out of the Cool Edit Pro folder and results in the program's inability to access the plug-in.

  5. 5

Select "Install" and the Auto Tune installs onto the computer. The next tine you launch Cool Edit Pro the Auto Tune plug-in is available on the "Effects" toolbar.
