PrivacyGuard is a program that guards against identity theft and fraud, monitors your credit score and registers your credit cards, among other features. PrivacyGuard is unlike traditional computer security software; instead of selling the program to you and allowing you to use it on your computer at will, PrivacyGuard requires a monthly "membership" fee, which in 2010 is £11.0 per month. Removing PrivacyGuard will terminate the monthly fee.

Tips and warnings

  • To cancel your membership for PrivacyGuard, which would stop your bank account from being charged, you should contact the PrivacyGuard customer service toll-free at 800-374-8273. Tell them you are uninstalling and want all automatic deductions to stop. Be aware you might be liable for further charges. Check with your bank to make sure that the recurring charge has been cancelled.
