Many times paint on brass can be removed with paint thinner and a little scrubbing.

Instructions

    Unscrew the brass hinges from the door.

    Poor paint thinner into a bucket and place the hinges to soak for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Remove the hinges and dip a toothbrush in the thinner.

  4. 4

    Brush hinges with the toothbrush to get paint off.

  5. 5

    Let hinges to dry for 30 to 45 minutes.

  6. 6

    Screw the hinges back on the door.
