WinImage is a program for the Windows 7 operating system that allows users to extract content from a CD or DVD and create a disk image, or iso, of that content. An iso file is bootable disk image file. That means you can create a file that will boot when loaded onto a computer. Creating bootable disk images is helpful for troubleshooting computers and sharing your software.

    Open WinImage on your PC. It will be located in the "My Programs" folder.

    Place the software CD into your PC's CD drive.

    Select "Disk" and choose "Create CD-ROM ISO." Choose the software CD and give the new boot image a name. Click "OK."

    Remove the software CD from your PC and insert a blank CD-R. Double-click on the disk image and select to which drive you want to burn the CD. Select "Burn."
