Mediafire is a file-sharing website that allows users to upload their files to the site and then send links to their friends in order for them to download the files themselves. In order to save extra space when uploading, a game or movie file may be compressed into "ZIP" format. Playing ZIP files downloaded in Mediafire won't be possible until you first "Unzip" the ZIP format. This is something you can do with the native "Extraction Wizard" in Windows.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Click on the link for the ZIP file that will take you to the Mediafire website.

  2. 2

Click "OK" in the dialogue box that appears to begin downloading the ZIP file.

  3. 3

Double-click on your ZIP file once it's downloaded. A window will appear, click "Extract all files." The extraction wizard will open.

  4. 4

Click "Next," and select the folder where you want your extracted ZIP files to appear. Click "Next" again.

  5. 5

Select "Show extracted files" in the next screen. Click "Finish" to begin extraction and show your new files. Double-click on the files to load them with your native program for that file.
