A crochet beanie is a jazzy fashion accessory for any age. Crocheted in cotton, the beanie can be worn in any weather. Since the 1900s the beanie has been a favourite with students and today's scull cap is a direct descendant of those old-fashioned hats. Crochet this pattern in wool yarn for a winter beanie that will keep you toasty warm on the ski slopes. This project requires knowledge of the basic crochet stitches
Measure the widest part of your head.
Chain two and single crochet 10 stitches in the second chain from the hook. Use a safety pin for a marker at the end of each round.
Chain two, and crochet two single crochets in each stitch for the third round.

Crochet two single crochets in the first stitch, crochet one single crochet in the next two stitches. Repeat this pattern for the rest of the fifth round.
Repeat this row, adding one additional single crochet between the two single crochet stitches in each subsequent row until the beanie is as wide as the widest part of your head.
Single crochet in each stitch every additional round until 31 rounds have been completed. End off.
