Google Maps is a free online web mapping service. Users can view street maps from all over the world and plan trips to and from any destination on the planet. Google Maps can also determine the distance between any two points, and even alert users if there are any missing sidewalks or pedestrian paths between the two locations.

Instructions

  1. 1

Go to maps.google.com and search for the area where you want to run. Double-click on the area of the map to zoom in or use the slider on the left of the map and move it towards the "+" sign to zoom in. Move the slider towards the "-" sign at the bottom to zoom out.

  2. 2

Right-click on an area and select "Directions from Here" to set a starting point. Set this wherever the run begins. Navigate to the ending point of the run on the map. Right-click on the ending point and select "Directions to Here" to set the ending point of the run.

  3. 3

Click on the icon of the man walking located on the upper left-hand side of the page. Scroll down on the left-hand side of the screen to view the distance between the two points, as well as an approximate amount of time it will take to run from the first point to the second.
