Adobe is a leader in the creation and production of computer software. When you purchase an Adobe product (such as Photoshop or After Effects) there is a serial number that comes included with the program. This serial number is used during the installation process, so if you do not have the serial number you can not install the program on your computer. However, there are several different places you can check for the number depending on how you purchased the software.

Things you need

- E-mail account
Launch an Internet browser and log on to your e-mail account. If you purchased the program from the Internet and downloaded it directly you are e-mailed the serial number. Check any e-mail you have received from Adobe. The produce activation serial number is contained in one of these messages.
Inspect the CD case. This can either be on the back of the case or on the inside flap. The serial number is a large series of digits, so if you see something like this you know it is the activation serial number.
Look through the program packaging for a small, white cardboard strip with the serial number on it. Although this can often be an inconvenient way to obtain the serial number because of its ability to be misplaced, products often come with this, so you need to be on the lookout for this cardboard strip when opening the Adobe packaging.
Inspect the manual that came with the Adobe product. Sometimes the serial number is printed on the front of the manual.
