How to Add an External Antenna to a USB Dongle

If you don't have an internal TV tuner installed in your computer but would like to add TV recording capabilities to your computer's repertoire, you can purchase an external USB TV tuner dongle. This dongle simply gets plugged into any USB port on your computer and instantly adds a tuner to your computer. In order to receive programming for free, over-the-air TV, you will then have to connect an external antenna to this USB TV tuner dongle.

    Locate the metal screw on the end of the coaxial cable that is connected to your external television antenna. This screw will be circular in shape and will have a thin metal pin on the inside of it.

    Screw the end of the cable that is connected to your external television antenna onto the coaxial input on your USB TV tuner dongle.

    Plug the USB input on your USB TV tuner dongle into a USB input on your computer. Your external television antenna is now connected to your USB TV tuner dongle, which is now connected to your computer.
