The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, or SMTP, server is an important element for sending and receiving messages in your e-mail client, such as Outlook, Windows Mail and Mac Mail. With a few clicks of your mouse, you can view the address of your SMTP in your client and make the needed adjustments when troubleshooting a problem or updating your service.

    Outlook

    Open your Outlook application.

  2. 2

    Click "Tools" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Accounts."

    Hit the "Mail" tab. Find the account associated with the SMTP server and highlight it. Click the "Properties" button to view your SMTP server address.

    Windows Mail

    Launch your Windows Mail application.

  2. 2

    Click "Tools" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Accounts."

    Hit the "Mail" tab. Find the account associated with the SMTP server and highlight it. Click the "Properties" button.

    Hit the "Servers" tab to view your SMTP server address.

    Mac Mail

    Launch your Mail application.

    Click "Mail" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Preferences."

    Click the account that you are interested in from the ones listed in the left column.

    View the SMTP server address in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field.
