The Cuisinart Egg Cooker an electric device that can be used to cook up to seven eggs at a time to either soft-boiled, medium-boiled or hard-boiled consistency. It can also be used to poach up to three eggs at a time. The device is an easy way to quickly and efficiently cook multiple eggs to the right consistency every time. Making sure you understand how to properly operate the unit will ensure consistent cooking and help ensure your device lasts for years to come.

    Boiled Eggs

    Clean your Cuisinart Egg Cooker prior to use. Wash the top, the poaching tray and cooking rack using hot water and liquid dish detergent. Rinse completely with clean running water. If you prefer, you can put these pieces into the dish washer, on the top rack only. Do not wash or submerge the base of the cooker or you will damage it and risk electrocution. If you want to clean this part, use a damp cloth to wipe the exterior of it. Completely dry all parts before reassembling.

    Wash the eggs you intend to cook under cool running water. This removes any debris or bacteria on the outside of the shells. Do not use hot water or you will begin to cook the eggs.

    Locate the cooking consistency and egg count on the measuring beaker that came with the unit. The beaker will have a line that will show you where to fill it with water according to how many eggs you are cooking and what consistency you want, including hard boiled, medium or soft boiled. Fill the measuring beaker to the line that matches your specifications with cold water.

    Add the water to the heating plate in your egg cooker. Put the cooking rack onto the base at this time as well.

    Press the fat end of each clean egg onto the piercing pin that is on the bottom of the beaker. Be careful; this pin is very sharp. Place each punctured egg into the cooking tray with the punctured end up.

    Place the lid on top of the base and turn the unit on.

    Cook your eggs until all the water has evaporated out of the unit, and then turn the unit off. There is a timer that will sound when cooking time is up; however, you will still need to turn the unit off when this occurs or the unit will continue to cook. Remove your cooked eggs and rinse them under cold running water.

    Serve your cooked eggs as normal.

    Clean your unit as directed in "Boiled Eggs." Add water as you would in Step 4 of "Boiled Eggs," using the line for one to three medium-boiled eggs on the measuring beaker.

    Grease the poaching tray using butter, vegetable oil or cooking spray. Crack your eggs and add them to the poaching tray. Place the cooking tray onto the base and the poaching tray on top of that.

    Place the lid on the unit and turn it on.

    Cook your eggs until all the water has evaporated. Turn the unit off. Remove your eggs using a spatula.

    Serve your poached eggs as normal.
