How to Get a Free Email Address on Yahoo

Updated March 23, 2017

Yahoo provides an e-mail service and ID that is free for anyone to use, which is particularly useful if you need multiple IDs or have an interruption in your regular Internet service. A Yahoo ID provides not only an e-mail account, but also gives you access to Yahoo Messenger and playing Yahoo online games. Registering for a new Yahoo ID only takes a few moments and requires little personal information.

Open your Web browser and navigate to the Yahoo home page (full link in Resources).

Click the “Create New Account” button.

Fill out the registration form. You must provide your name, gender, birthday, country, language and postcode. Create an ID and password. Enter an alternate e-mail if you have one, and choose secret questions and answers. Enter the code at the bottom of the page. If you cannot read the code, click “Try a new code for a new code.

Click “Create My Account” to finish creating your new e-mail.
