Go to the Microsoft official website. Move your mouse over the "All Products" option from the top toolbar menu and click on the "All Macintosh Products" option.
Click on the "Products" option and the click on the "Download Free Trial" option below the "Try Office 2008 today" heading.
Click on the "Download Free Trial" button and then the Free Trial page will appear. Select your country from the drop-down menu and enter your e-mail address into the "Email Address" field.
Re-enter your e-mail address into the "Verify Email Address" field. Enter your first and last name into the appropriate fields and then select how you will use Office 2008 from the drop-down menu next to the "Additional Information" field.
Click on the "Sign-Up Now" button. Make note of the product key that you will need to install the free trial software from the Download Your Software page. The product key will also appear in a confirmation e-mail that will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.
Click on the "Download Now" button. Allow time for the download to complete and then the installation file will appear on the your desktop.
