While Photoshop allows you to edit and alter photos in a number of different ways, it is somewhat limited in the way that it handles text. For example, in order to make a copyright sign in Photoshop, you must use a keyboard shortcut that is not intuitive. Being able to make a copyright symbol in Photoshop can be important, particularly for those who create a design or other intellectual property in Photoshop and want to protect their rights to its ownership.

    Open the page on which you want to insert the copyright sign.

    Click the "Text Box" tool and click and drag your mouse on the page to create a box in the location where you want to insert the copyright sign.

    Click your cursor inside the box.

    Press "ALT" and "0169" on the numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard. The copyright sign will appear in the text box.

Tips and warnings

  • If you are using a laptop and have no numeric keypad, press and hold the "FN" key before performing Step 4. Then use the number keys at the top of the keyboard.
