Boxes

Teens tend to need a lot of storage options in their bedrooms. Decorate mid-sized cardboard boxes with contact paper, shelf liner or even book covers. Use whatever you have handy at home. Make sure to use a material that has adhesive on the back.

Jewellery Box

Dcoupage a small box. Embellish the exterior with decorative items such as glitter, sequins, beads, confetti and felt. Craft glue works well, but a multi-purpose glue will work if used sparingly. Seal the design with a clear acrylic paint.

Pillows

Make personalised pillows for your teen's bedroom. Do this with your teen if possible. The project does take some skill and creativity. To personalise the pillows, monogram them with her initials or first name. Create a monogram using a sewing machine or by hand. Another option is to sew on lettering. Make three or four pillows in different colours and designs.

Candles

If you have candles, glitter and glue on hand, make decorative candles for your teen's room. Add glue to the candles. Quickly, before the glue dries, add glitter by sprinkling it on or rolling the candles in it. Don't light the candles until the glue is completely dry. Remind your teen to use care when burning candles. Never leave candles unattended.
