If you're interested in designing your own wedding dress with a program, you can do so online for free. Several online programs allow you to create your dress for your big day; one of these, Dress Creator, even allows you to add accessories to the dress design and make an avatar that looks like you to model the dress. This isn't the only online program, however. A variety of sites allow you to design your own wedding dress.

Instructions

  1. 1

Choose a wedding dress design website (see Resources) that offers the options you want to design your own wedding dress. Some programs only allow you to create the dress, while others offer accessory and avatar options.

  2. 2

Make a dress model avatar. Design your avatar to look like you so you can see how the dress design will look when you wear it. Choose the hairstyle and colour of skin, eyes and hair that match your own.

  3. 3

Pick a shape or cut for your dress. Scroll through the options, which may include sheath, floor-length, tea-length, gown, A-line or empire-waist dresses. Choose the cut that you want to design.

  4. 4

Pick a style for the dress sleeves. Options may include, long, short, capped, spaghetti strap, sleeveless or strapless.

  5. 5

    Pick the wedding dress neckline.

  6. 6

Select dress accents. Decide if you want your wedding dress to have sequins, beads, pearls, ribbon or other accents that run along the bodice, the train of the dress, the sleeves or anywhere else on the dress.

  7. 7

Choose dress accessories including earrings, necklaces, veils, gloves and more.

  8. 8

Print a copy of your wedding dress design. You can now take it to a dressmaker to make the dress of your dreams.
