  1. 1

Find a pale pink sweat suit, set of long johns, or T-shirt or trousers. The colour of the shirt and trousers should be very close, if not completely matching. You can find these items at a thrift store or discount store. If you are unable to find the right colour, dye white items with fabric dye.

  2. 2

Lay the shirt and trousers on a flat surface. Use a ruler and a pencil to draw straight horizontal lines an equal distance apart, moving up and down the shirt and trousers. Do this on both sides of the garments.

  3. 3

Paint between the pencil lines using purple fabric paint. Allow the front sides of the shirt and trousers to dry completely, then flip the garments and paint the back.

  4. 4

Paint your face purple, and use white paint to draw on whiskers. Finish the look with cat ears and a tail, which can be found at any costume store. Wear purple or pink gloves to keep your hands warm if you live in a cold climate.

Tips and warnings

  • Wear a purple wig to imitate the Cheshire cat's swatch of hair on top of his head.
