How to Get Suction Cups to Stick to Tile

Suction cups are often used to hold up soap containers, razors and loofahs on tile walls in showers. A common problem associated with suction cups is they eventually lose their suction power and fall down. This problem can be avoided as long as you take precautions before you put the suction cup on the tile. With just a few simple tasks, your suction cup will stay attached to the tile until you pull it off manually.

Wash the tile with warm water and a cleaning detergent made specially for tile. Rinse the tile with water and dry it with paper towel. Paper towels are best to use because they do not leave fibres behind.

Wash the suction cup with warm water and liquid hand soap. Rinse it off and wipe it clean with a paper towel to ensure all dirt and dust is removed.

Moisten the edges of the suction cup with water.

Press the suction cup firmly against the tile. Make sure the suction cup sits only on the tile, and not on the grout between the tiles.
