How to Reset a Zune to Factory Settings

    Slide the "Hold" switch so that it is in the unlocked position.

    Press the “Back” button and the top of the Zune pad at the same time and hold until the device resets and begins to power up. Release the buttons when the Zune starts to power on.

    Immediately press and hold the “Back” button and both the left side and the centre of the Zune pad and continue to hold until the Zune restarts. The phrase “Please Wait” will appear on the LCD screen. Release the buttons.

    Allow the Zune to continue resetting. It will clear the contents and eventually display “Connect Zune to your PC” when it is ready to continue.

    Connect the Zune to your computer via the Zune Sync cable. Follow the prompts given by the Zune software to completely restore the Zune device to the factory settings. If you have downloaded newer Zune firmware, you have the option to restore the Zune firmware with the latest version.
