The Nintendo Wii can create high-quality graphics but the game console's case is "plain vanilla." Changing the default blue colour of the DVD disc slot will enable the Wii to stand out, as well as to proclaim your own individuality. However, you will have to open up the Wii, violating its warranty, in order to change the colour. No electronic skill is required other than removing the existing DVD slot LED gate plate and replacing it with a differently coloured one purchased from a game console modification store.

Tips and warnings

  • Wear an antistatic strap to avoid causing a static discharge.
  • Voiding the Nintendo warranty will make it impossible to get an authorised server station to do a repair under the conditions of the warranty.
