Connecting dual TV antennas to your TV set can help your signal reception because you are likely to receive signals from opposite directions, depending on where your home is located. You can use either indoor or outdoor antennas. Outdoor antennas will require more work because you have to mount them on the roof but they can be less problematic than wiring the indoor antennas. With indoor antennas, you might have to deal with cables that run from opposite directions in your home.
Things you need
Coaxial combiner or multi-switch unit
Mount your two antennas at opposite locations within the room or home. This task can be as simple as placing them on a shelf or hanging them with tacks or nails. The higher you can mount them, the better.
Connect both antennas. Use their coaxial connections to connect the antennas to the input ports on a coaxial combiner or a multi-switch unit. A combiner works if you only have two antennas and one TV. You will need a multi-switch to connect more TVs.
Connect the combiner or multi-switch to the TV set(s) by using more coaxial cables, connected to the output port(s) on the combiner or switch and the input port(s) on the TV(s).
Calculate the minimum vertical spacing you need between the antennas. To do this, divide 467 by the lowest channel frequency that you are receiving. The low frequency for Channel 2 is 54-55 megahertz so the best minimum space is 467/54 = 8/64 feet.
Mount the antennas onto the roof; stack one on top of the other or mount them at opposite ends of the roof, using your specific antennas' mounting instructions. Make sure the spacing between the antennas is at least above the calculated distance from Step One and point the antennas in opposite directions.
Connect both antennas to a coaxial signal combiner or multi-switch unit. You must use the exact same length of coaxial cable to connect each antenna to the combiner to prevent any interference from one channel onto another.
Connect the output from the combiner to your TV set(s) using a coaxial cable for each TV that you are connecting.
