The iPhone allows users to download applications to make tasks and functions more convenient. One of those apps, Beam It!, allows a user to send his or another person's contact information over their iPhone's Bluetooth connection. This eliminates the need to e-mail, text or copy down an individual's contact information.

  1. 1

Install the Beam It! iPhone app by touching the "App Store" icon on your phone and searching for "Beam it." Beam It! is a free download, so touch the "Free" button on the app description and touch "Install" to begin the installation process.

  2. 2

Enter your iTunes password once you have been prompted. In order for Beam It! to work, you must install it on both devices. Instruct the recipient of the contact information to install the app as well.

  3. 3

Turn on your device's Bluetooth. You can do so by touching "Settings" followed by touching the "General" entry from the list. Touch the 'Bluetooth" entry from the list and touch the switch to turn your Bluetooth on.

  4. 4

Open the Beam It! app on both devices. You will be prompted to select the contact information you wish to send. If you initially select the wrong information, click the "i" icon in the lower right corner of the "My Name Is" bubble to change it.

  5. 5

Touch the recipient's name listed under "Device's nearby." Your iPhone will make a connection with the other iPhone. After the connection has been made, the contact information will automatically be sent. Instruct the other user to scroll down to access the options to save the contact information to their iPhone.
