Gemini Universal Remote Instructions

Gemini universal remotes are designed to provide you with simple, one-remote access to all of your entertainment devices. The remotes provide access to televisions, VCRs and CTV converters. Though there are several designs of the Gemini universal remote, the programming procedures and codes are the same.

Programming

Before you can use your universal remote, you must pair the remote to your devices. First, ensure that you have new batteries in your universal remote. You may be required to program the remote with each battery replacement. Locate the three-digit codes that match your devices. Hold the RCL and ENT buttons simultaneously for three seconds. The red indicator light will display. Press the button for the device you want to program. Your choices are TV, VCR, CTV or AUX. Enter the three-digit code for your device. If the code is correct, the indicator light will turn off. Test your device by pressing the PWR key. If the device turns off, the programming is correct. If the programming is incorrect, begin the process again and enter another programming code.

Quick Programming

The Gemini universal remote also offers a quick programming feature. To use this feature, turn on the device that you wish to program. You should program only one device at a time. Hold the RCL and ENT buttons simultaneously for three seconds. The red indicator light will turn on. Press the button for the type of device you are programming. Enter the quick programming code for the device you are programming. The quick programming code for TV is 990, VCR is 992 and Cable is 994. Point the universal remote at the device and press the red PWR button. If the device powers down, you have successfully programmed your remote. Press the device key again to set the code for the device and end the programming process. If the device doesn't accept the programming, press the volume up button to try the next code. Press the PWR button to test the programming. Repeat the process until the device responds. Once the device responds, press the applicable device button on the remote to set the programming and end the process.

Programming Codes

The Gemini universal remote includes a wide array of codes for a long list of manufacturers. This is a short list of the most popular TV codes.
