Luckily Acer has designed their laptops to be relatively user-friendly when it comes to installing and replacing basic components. For example, the hard drive on your Acer Aspire is easily accesible via the bottom of your computer. So if you just bought a new hard drive for your Acer Aspire and are wondering how to install it, there's no need to worry. The entire process of installing the hard drive should only take a few minutes.

- Phillips screwdriver
Turn the Acer Aspire face down. Make sure that the computer is turned off and any AC cables are removed from the device.
Locate the square hard drive panel on the bottom of the computer. It is the largest of the panels on the underside of the computer and will be clearly marked. Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove both screws securing the plastic compartment cover. Lift the compartment cover off and set aside.
Remove the original hard drive from its compartment by gently sliding it out of the computer.
Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws from each side of the metal bracket on the original hard drive. Remove the bracket from the original hard drive and fit it onto the new hard drive (available from your Acer retailer or online). Secure the screws on the bracket.
Slide the new hard drive into the compartment and replace the cover and screws. Turn your Aspire on and your new hard drive will be installed.
