Avoid cracked taco shells and spilt fillings by making a homemade taco holder. A taco holder supports the shell so it stands upright on your plate instead of laying on its side. While you can purchase these from speciality kitchen supply stores, you can inexpensively make your own. By using disposable foil mini loaf pans and some ingenuity, you can craft a taco holder for one person or make several to support enough tacos for a fiesta.
Use the scissors or utility knife to cut the 3-inch by 2-inch ends from the loaf pan to leave a 5-inch long pan open on two sides.
Place a hard taco shell inside the loaf pan along the length of the pan.
Gently bend the aluminium foil loaf pan to the width of the taco shell.
Remove the taco shell and cut the top one inch from the top of the loaf pan.
Press the loaf pan on a surface to flatten out the bottom and allow it to stand without support.
Serve the tacos in the taco holder upright on a plate. Hold the taco support to keep your hands clean while eating and to prevent cracking the shell.
