AVP.exe is a process that is run when you have the Kaspersky security software installed. Contrary to popular opinion, it is not a virus. The application error people get from Kaspersky security software programs is usually because your Kaspersky security system is outdated or your subscription has expired. Stop the avp.exe application from appearing by manually ending the process on your computer.

    Open the Task Manager by pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys simultaneously.

    Open the "Processes" tab in the Task Manager.

    Locate the avp.exe process and click on it. Next, click on the "End Process..." button.

    Click "OK" and then close the Task Manager. The avp.exe error will not appear anymore.
