Inkjet printer cartridges are commonly used in the typical household printer. When they run out of ink, however, they can be expensive to replace. With the wide availability of inkjet refill kits at electronic stores and online vendors, refilling your old cartridge at home is becoming a popular alternative to purchasing brand new printer cartridges. The Lexmark model is a brand name cartridge that can be easily refilled with the proper tools.
Place the empty Lexmark 23 or 24 cartridge upright on several layers of newspaper to prevent ink spills during filling.
Gently pull off the Lexmark label to access the refill hole.
For the Lexmark 23 cartridge, fill the syringe provided in your ink refill kit with 15ml of black ink.
Insert the syringe into the refill hole located on the top left corner of the cartridge and gently release the ink.
For the Lexmark 24 cartridge, fill the syringe with 7ml of magenta ink and release it into the hole on the top left corner of the cartridge. Fill the syringe with 7ml of yellow ink and release it into the hole on the bottom left corner of the cartridge. Then fill the syringe with 7ml of cyan ink and release it into the hole on the bottom right corner of the cartridge.
Replace the label and allow the cartridge to sit upright for eight hours before using.
