In 2006, NTL Telewest merged with Virgin Media, Inc. to continue providing broadband Internet service to it's customers. After the merger, all new customers automatically receive a new Virgin Media e-mail addresses. However, a Virgin Media customer who was an NTL customer before the merger can still use his NTL e-mail addresses. You can set-up your NTL e-mail account on your home computer for easy access to your messages.

Open your Outlook Express e-mail program. If you would like to use an e-mail client other than Outlook Express, see the link that is located in the "Resources" section for set-up instructions.
Click "Tools," and "Accounts" from the Outlook Express menu bar.
Click the "Add" button that is located underneath the "Mail" tab.
Complete the "Internet Connection Wizard" to set-up your NTL e-mail account. You will be asked for a display name, your "email@example.com" e-mail address, password, and mail server settings. Enter "pop3.ntlworld.com" for the incoming mail server and "smtp.ntlworld.com" for the outgoing mail server.
Click "Finish" to exit the Internet Connection Wizard.
Click on the NTL e-mail account that is now showing in the "Accounts" window. Click "Properties."
Click the "General" tab. Select "My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication."
Select the option to "Log On Using." For the username, enter your "firstname.lastname@example.org" e-mail address. Enter your password. Click "OK."
