Unlocking a Samsung J700 phone can be done quickly and efficiently with a little bit of patience and a few simple unlock codes. An unlocked Samsung J700 works with most SIM cards, allowing the phone to work on almost any major network.

Instructions

    Prepare the Phone

    Be sure the phone is fully charged. Disable security codes or security PINs that can hinder the unlock process. Turn the phone off.

    Insert the third-party SIM card halfway. When the phone is turned on it should still say "Insert SIM."

    Turn the phone on. Enter the code 27672878# exactly as it appears and wait for the phone to reset.

    When the phone turns on and says "Insert SIM," push the SIM Card all the way into the port. Then enter the code 27673855# and wait for the phone to reset again. Once reset, the phone should work and begin to get reception.

    Making the Unlock Permanent

  1. 1

    Enter the code #7465625# into the phone to see what locks need deactivated. If the Network Lock is set as "Active," enter the code 74656256380000000000000000# and then the code #7465625638*00000000#. The message that appears should be "Network Lock Deactivated."

  2. 2

    If the Subset Lock is set as "Active," enter the code 74656257820000000000000000# and then the code #746562578200000000#. The message that appears should be "Subset Lock Deactivated."

  3. 3

    If the SP Lock is set as "Active," enter the code 7465625770000000000000000# and then the code #74656257700000000#. The message that appears should be "SP Lock Deactivated."

  4. 4

    If the CP Lock is set as "Active," enter the code 7465625270000000000000000# and then the code #74656252700000000#. The message that appears should be "CP Lock Deactivated."

  5. 5

    If the SIM Lock is set as "Active," enter the code 74656257460000000000000000# and then the code #746562574600000000#. The message that appears should be "SIM Lock Deactivated."

Tips and warnings

  • It is also possible to unlock a Samsung J700 with an unlock kit, which can be purchased for less than £13.
  • Be careful when inserting the SIM card as it is very fragile.
  • Unlocking the phone could possibly void the warranty.
