Files on the Windows operating system have three dates associated with them--the creation date, the accessed date and the modified date. The creation date is the date the file was created. The accessed date is the date of the last time the file was opened. The modified date is the date of the last time the file was changed. Third party software such as Finders Keepers, AttributeMagic or PowerDesk must be installed to change these dates without actually opening or modifying the files.
