How to Make a Powerful Automatic Airsoft Gun

An airsoft gun refers to any homemade weapon that can shoot a projectile of some type, and the construction of such a weapon is a homage to the replica guns and refiles first created by the Japanese in the 1980s, since no citizen there could legally possess a firearm. You can make your own automatic-type airsoft gun that will shoot a series of pellets, one after the other. A few supplies from around the house and a hobby store will be needed, along with some tools not uncommon to anyone who has done minor repairs in their home.

Instructions

  1. 1

Empty a pill bottle and place it face down on a table. Drill a hole in the bottom at the centre with a portable drill -- the blade of a utility knife can be used instead. Smooth the inside edges of the hole with the fine-grit sandpaper.

  2. 2

Cut a plastic straw in half with a scissors. Place an end of one of the cut straws in the hole. Push the straw about an inch into the hole. Apply bonding glue around the sides of the straw to adhere it to the hole. Let the bonding glue set for three hours before continuing.

  3. 3

Measure 2 inches up from the bottom of the pill bottle. Make a hole in the side of the pill bottle at the 2-inch mark with the portable drill using the larger drill bit. Smooth the inside edges of the hole with the sandpaper.

  4. 4

Insert one end of the PVC pipe into the hole. Push the PVC pipe an inch into the hole. Apply bonding glue around the sides of the PVC pipe to adhere it to the hole. Let the bonding glue set for three hours before continuing.

  5. 5

Fill the pill bottle with pellets. Screw the pill bottle lid on -- if the lid only snaps on, tape the lid to the bottle with strips of duct tape.

  6. 6

Go outside. Insert the free end of the PVC pipe in the end of the wet/dry vac's hose. Tape the pipe to the hose with strips of duct tape. Plug one end of an extension cord into the vacuum's power cord. Plug the other end of the extension cord into a wall outlet on the side of the house, or inside the house if necessary.

  7. 7

Switch the wet/dry vac from "vacuum" to "exhaust" -- difference in manufacturers may cause the names to be slightly different. Aim the plastic straw at the end of the pill bottle towards a tree or bush. Turn the vacuum on. Hold your airsoft-type automatic weapon steady as a stream of pellets fly out towards the tree or gush.

Tips and warnings

  • You can use foam pellets instead of metal BBs if you want.
  • Never aim any kind of device that shoots pellets at a person or pet.
