The Mac OS X operating system includes iWork, a suite of basic productivity applications. Part of iWork is Pages, a word processing and document creation program. Pages includes 180 Apple-designed templates in different categories Among the many templates are nine card-style templates. More templates are available from online sources (See Resources). These templates are fully customisable with images and text, allowing users to create personalised invitations for any event or occasion.

Things you need

Open Pages by going to the "Applications" folder, double-clicking on the "iWork" folder and double-clicking on "Pages."
Select the "Cards & Invitations" category in the "Template Chooser" window. Select a template from the gallery. The thumbnail images show the exterior of the card. If you hover your arrow over a card, you can see the interior. You can change the graphics and the text of the templates, so feel free to choose any of the cards to create an invitation.
Adjust the text of the invitation. Click on the text and make any desired edits. To change the font, colour, size or style, click on the "Fonts" icon in the upper right corner of the window.
Insert new images in the invitation. You may drag images from any application and drop them over the placeholder images. You can also access your iPhoto library from within Pages by clicking on the "Media" icon in the upper right corner of the window.
Save the invitation by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Save." Enter a name for the invitation and select a save location.
Print your invitations. You can copy the invitation file to a blank CD or USB drive and take it to a print shop or print the invitation at home on your own printer. If you are printing at home, check the manufacturer's instructions that came with your printer for double-sided printing.
