How to Convert TS to AVI Format
Convert your DVD's TS folders to AVI. (dvd image by dinostock from Fotolia.com)

A DVD has two main folders: a Video TS and an Audio TS folder. You may have a stand-alone TS folder stored on your computer, or a DVD you need to rip. Converting your TS folders to AVI requires you to download a program that can read a TS folder's contents and rip all the files to your computer (since no software capable of this comes standard with your PC or Mac computer). These programs include HandBrake, AVS Video Converter and DVD Ripper for Mac. HandBrake is a free program, while AVS and DVD Ripper have free trial periods. Please note that converting DVD quality files to AVI may result in some loss of quality.
