How to convert rar files to zip files
Compression utilities such as WinRAR reduce the size of large files. (hard disk image by Rade Cojbasic from Fotolia.com)

Files with the RAR extension are compressed archives using the file compression utility WinRAR. If you have a RAR file that you need to send to someone who may not have WinRAR installed or know how to use it, recompress the file as a ZIP archive using WinRAR. The ZIP format is supported natively by Windows, and the recipient can open the file without installing third-party software as long as he is running Windows XP or later.
