    Method One: Baby

  1. 1

Purchase four pairs of baby tights in different colours. Use scissors to cut the legs off three pairs of the tights and discard the crotch area.

  2. 2

Stuff the legs with cotton batting. Hot glue the open ends shut by rolling them over and then applying glue.

  3. 3

Hot glue white felt circles onto the legs of the stuffed tights as well as the fourth pair of tights that has not been cut and stuffed to create suction cups. The felt circles should be on the underside of each leg.

  4. 4

Cut a 2-foot length of wide ribbon. Use hot glue to attach each of the stuffed legs to the ribbon so that the suction cups are pointing down. Make sure the legs are right next to one another, with no space between them. Attach a piece of Velcro to each end of the ribbon to turn it into a belt. You can either sew the Velcro on or use adhesive-backed Velcro.

  5. 5

Dress your baby in the tights with the suction cups and a matching onesie. Place the completed belt around her waist. If desired, you can place a hat on her head as well.

    Method Two: Children and Adults

  1. 1

Purchase four pairs of matching thigh-high women's socks. Buy a T-shirt in a coordinating colour. Also buy a matching knit beanie hat.

  2. 2

Fill three pairs of the socks with cotton batting which can be purchased at your local craft store. Sew the open ends of the socks shut using a sewing machine. Attach the sewn ends of the socks to the bottom hem of the T-shirt.

  3. 3

Create large eyes by cutting two 3-inch circles out of white felt and two 1-inch circles out of black felt. Hot glue the black circles on top of the white circles then glue the eyes to the knit beanie.

  4. 4

Wear the completed hat and shirt with a pair of shorts. Also wear the fourth pair of socks to make another set of legs for the octopus.
