Flip up the door that covers the toner cartridge compartment and pull the toner out of the printer. Shake the toner cartridge vigorously and place it back in the printer.
Print a couple of test pages to make sure the quality is still acceptable. If you see a "toner low" message, the toner will need to be replaced. Sometimes shaking the toner cartridge can give you at least a few more days of good quality printouts.
Replace the toner cartridge when the "toner low" message reappears. Pull out the toner cartridge out and replace it with a new one.
Look for a control panel message saying "New toner cartridge=No." Click the "Value" button to change the "No" to "Yes," then click the "Select" button on the printer's control panel. Send a test page to the printer to make sure the print quality is acceptable.
