Windows CE is a stripped-down version of Windows used by mobile devices. Sharing folders on your Windows CE device will enable you to swap information with other compatible devices within range, in addition to sharing information across your home network. This is possible by modifying the registry of the handheld device by changing the information contained in the Project.reg file.
- Skill level:
Click on the \"Search\" option on your mobile device and search for the \"Project.reg\" file.
Double click on the \"Project.reg\" file to open it.
Open the following folders in order: \"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,\" \"Services,\" \"SMBServer,\" \"Shares,\" \"VirtualRoot.\"
Double-click on the \"Path\" option and input in the path of the folder to be shared. For example, if the folder were in the \"Windows\" directory on the \"C\" drive, you would type in \"C:\windows.\"
Navigate to the \"Shares\" folder, double-click the \"UserAuthentication\" variable, and set it to \"1.\"
Reboot your mobile device to complete the changes.
