Casio watch bands have a reputation for durability and overall quality and rarely need to be fixed or replaced. But there are times that a Casio watch band will break and needs to be replaced, or sometimes it's just time for a change of style. Nylon is a great alternative to a Casio watch band and you can make the switch quickly.

Skill level:

Things you need

  • Nylon watch band
  • Spring bar tool

  1. 1

Position the watch on its side. Use a spring bar tool to remove the spring bar from one side of the watch. A spring bar tool has a forked end that is used to remove spring bars--it can be purchased at your local hardware store.

  2. 2

Measure the space between the lugs on the watch. The lugs are the two points on each side of the watch where the watch band connects to the main watch case. Use a small tape measure to measure the space between the two lugs on each side. Alternatively, you can measure the width of the old band. Purchase the nylon band of your choice that will fit the measurements of the watch lugs.

  3. 3

Insert the spring bars from the old band into the ends of the new band. Insert the end of the new band with the spring bars into the opening in the side of the watch case. Use the forked end of the spring bar tool to snap the spring bars into place.

  4. 4

Repeat Steps 1 and 3 for the other side of the watch.
