Power on your Sony Vaio by holding down the power button on the right-hand side of the laptop.
Log into any account that has administrator access. This can be the administrator account, but it doesn't necessarily have to be.
Open the administrator password settings by clicking the "Start" menu and typing "control userpasswords2" into the search box. This launches a window labelled "Password for Administrator." If you are using Windows XP, click "Start" followed by "Run." Then type "control userpasswords2."
Click "Reset Password" in the administrator password settings window. You are prompted to enter a new password.
Enter a new password. Try to make the password hexadecimal, or a combination of letters and numbers. Write down the password and click "Ok." Your administrator password has been successfully reset.
