Pinnacle Studio is a non-linear digital video editing program. It allows you to take digital video footage recorded from a camcorder and edit it into something that resembles an actual movie--complete with transitional effects and sound clips. When you arrange footage in Pinnacle Studio, your clips are located in the "timeline." If a gap exists between two clips in the timeline, there will be a short period of darkness in between each clip. To remove this gap, you only need to adjust the positioning of the clips in your timeline.

Instructions

  1. 1

Click on the icon for the clip just to the right of the gap in your timeline. This will highlight it.

  2. 2

Scroll to the far right of the timeline. Hold down the "SHIFT" key on your keyboard and then click on the last clip in the timeline to select it. This will select all clips in the timeline that are in between (and including) the first clip and the last clip you selected.

  3. 3

Scroll back to the position in the timeline where the gap is present.

  4. 4

Click on the clip in the timeline that is just to the right of the gap.

  5. 5

Drag the clip until it is touching the clip that is to the left of the gap. This will make the two clips (as well as all the other highlighted clips) touch together in the timeline. This will remove the gap that was present, allowing your video to play smoothly.
