Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 9 is a version of Flash Player that allows interactive graphics and animations to function on a webpage. For example, a slideshow of pictures, or interactive game on a social networking site uses Flash Player to display the pictures and contents of the game. New versions of the software come out as it is updated. The plugin is free to download from Adobe's website. It is also possible to download older versions of the plugin. Once it is downloaded from Adobe's site, it can be installed.

Uninstall any versions of Adobe Flash Player that are currently on your system. Go to the "Start" menu, click "Control Panel," then "Add or remove programs." Select "Adobe Flash Player" and choose "Remove." Follow the prompts to completely remove the plugin from your computer.
Navigate to the Abode Flash Player ActiveX 9 link located in the "Resources" section. Choose "Flash Player 9." The download will start automatically.
Extract the files from the zip folder. When the files are downloaded, they come packaged as a zipped folder. Right-click on the folder and choose "Extract to fp9_archive." The files are now in a new folder without the zipper picture on the folder.
Open the folder and navigate to the folder named "9r262." Once inside the folder, double-click "flashplayer9r262_winax." This begins the install. Follow all prompts to finish the installation. Restart your computer.
Tips and warnings
