How to Make a Robot Arms Costume

If you create a robot arms costume you can imagine the possibilities with your new appendages. At your party, that box of cookies now will not be too high for you to grab. You can pick up an unhappy cat without being scratched. This type of costume could come in handy for Halloween or other occasions.

Things you need

  • 8 feet of flexible aluminium duct vent
  • Two toy robotics claws
  • Needle and thread
  • Duct tape
  • Heavy duty shears
  • Sweatshirt

Instructions

  1. 1

    Measure from your shoulder to your wrist. Account for the robotics claw and add to your measurement.

  2. 2

    Cut two pieces of duct vent to this length with shears.

  3. 3

    Cut the sleeves of the sweat shirt off about 2 inches from the cuff. Save the pieces.

  4. 4

    Hand sew the vent to the shoulder of the sweat shirt.

  5. 5

    Hand sew the cut off ends of the sleeve to other end of the vent.

  6. 6

    Insert the claws into the sleeve with just the claw showing

  7. 7

    Wrap duct tape around the cuff of the sleeve, securing the claw.

  8. 8

    Put on the shirt, running your arms into the sleeves and duct vent.

  9. 9

    Grasp the handle of the claw inside the sleeve, and you're ready to go.
