- Metal polish
- Fine grain steel wool
- Buffing pad
- Masking tape, optional
Tape off any areas around the aluminium trim. Use masking tape, which will safely adhere to and remove from car paint without causing damage.
Spray a buffing pad with aluminium polish. Both of these items can be found at any auto supply store.
Rub the buffing pad over the aluminium trim, using small round buffing motions to buff and polish the aluminium surface. Spray the aluminium polish onto the buffing pad after every few swipes, and continue until all trim has been polished to your satisfaction.
Buff heavy residue with a fine grain steel wool. This will remove residue, as well as any scratches on the aluminium trim. Spray a mist of aluminium polish onto the steel wool while buffing for an extra polishing element.
Wipe the trim once more with a buffing pad misted with aluminium polish.
Remove the masking tape and discard it.
