A quick look into a computer or electronic store in 2011 reveals a handful of wireless printers. These printers connect to your computer (or computers) through your router, but the technology is relatively new and not all printers are wireless-ready. The HP C4480, for example, doesn't have a wireless card -- but that doesn't mean you can't share it over your wireless network. At least one computer needs to be connected to the printer, however.

Choose a computer to serve as your print server. If the printer is already installed on this computer, proceed to Step 2; otherwise, insert the HP-supplied disc before plugging in the HP C4480 printer. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the printer software and only plug in the USB cable when prompted by the set-up program. When finished, reboot the computer.

Verify your computer's wireless connectivity. You'll see a wireless strength icon in the bottom-right hand side of your screen (a series of bars). Click "Start" and open "Control Panel," then click "Network and Internet" and "Network and Sharing Center." Click on "Choose homegroup and sharing options" under "Change your network settings."

Click the checkbox beside "Printers" under the heading "Share libraries and printers." Then click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the screen. Click on "Control Panel" in the navigation bar along the top of the screen and then click "View devices and printers" under "Hardware and Sound." You'll see a list of all your printers, faxes and cameras, including the HP C4480 all-in-one.

Right-click on the HP C4480 and choose "Printer properties." Click on the "Share" tab and then click the checkbox beside "Share this printer." Give the printer a name on the network (or leave the default name of "HP C4480"). Click "Okay" to close the dialogue box and save your changes.

Go to another computer on your network to add the HP C4480 through the wireless network. Click "Start" and choose "Devices and printers" and then click "Add a printer." Now choose "Add a network printer." As long as the computer is connected to the wireless network, it will detect the shared HP C4480 and install it as a printer across the network. Repeat this step for every computer on your wireless network to print wirelessly to the C4480. The printer and its host computer must always be on for this to work.
