The process is not necessarily difficult, but it is important to be meticulous and careful. These bands include small pieces that could easily be lost if care is not taken.

  1. 1

Remove the pin that is holding the clasp in place on the left side of the watch. This should be done carefully, because the pin can be lost when removed. There sometimes is a spring. If the pin is spring-loaded, it may shoot out. Removing the pin can be easily done by straightening a paper clip and pressing the end of it into the pin until the pin pops out. There is also a pin on the right side of the clasp, but it cannot be removed.

  2. 2

Using a small flat-head screwdriver, apply pressure out the remaining link or clip. The most effective way to provide ample pressure is to push down on the band with a different screwdriver. Avoid using fingers on the band during this stage, because they could get pinched between the links. Push the clip with the screwdriver to the outside part of the link.

  3. 3

Push the clip as far out of the link as possible. The clip will not be able to be completely removed by simply pushing on it with the screwdriver because there is not enough room.

  4. 4

Continue to hold down the band with a screwdriver flat on a table. The bottom side of the watch should be facing upward. Place your thumb and forefinger on the band to hold it flat against the table. Be careful to not get the skin of the finger caught in between links. Now, place the screwdriver against the clip and push firmly.

  5. 5

Use needle-nose pliers to grasp and pull the end of the clip that has started to protrude from the band. Once the clip completely comes out, the link can easily be removed by sliding it out of its place. Continue to hold the band while pulling the clip out with the pliers.

  6. 6

Connect the links on both sides of the link that was removed to each other by sliding the pin back into place.

Tips and warnings

  • This process may vary depending on the exact model of Casio watch, but the process outlined here can be followed for most types of Casio watches.
  • Make sure that the hand holding the band down is elevated. If it is and the screwdriver slips, there is less of a chance it will stab your hand.
