The Boss Micro BR Dat recorder is typically used to directly record content from your electric guitar, although you can use it to record off of microphones. The Boss recorder has a built-in hard drive, storing all of the audio tracks as either WAV format or MP3. The audio recorder even has a USB port so you can easily upload the content form your device to any computer.

Power on the Boss Micro BR Dat recorder and set it to MP3. This converts all of the audio you record into MP3 files.
Connect your guitar, keyboard or other device into the "Line In" port on the recorder.
Press "Record" and begin to play the content you want recorded onto MP3. Press the "Stop" button to stop recording.
Connect the USB cable into the USB port on the side of the Boss Micro BR Dat recorder. Plug the other end of the USB cable into any available USB port on the computer.
Click the "Start" button followed by either "Computer" or "My Computer" (depending on what operating system version you are using).
Double click the removable device icon. A window appears with all of the tracks you have recorded, in MP3 format. Click and drag the files onto your computer. You can copy the files to any location. Once the copying has finished close out the window, right click the removable device icon and select "Eject" from the pull-down menu.
