Instructions

  1. 1

Click "Start," then click "Control Panel," and open the "Add/Remove Programs" utility. Find your McAfee product, and click "Change/Remove." At the prompt, select the services you wish to uninstall, then click "Remove."

  2. 2

Use McAfee's Automatic tool. Download this application from the mcafee.com website. Run this utility to remove all traces of the McAfee product from your system. This only applies to certain programs, so check to make sure the product you are using will be affected.

  3. 3

Remove McAfee Security Services to allow you to uninstall the program. This method should be considered if you are seeing the following error: "In order to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter, you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first."

  4. 4

Open "My Computer," navigate inside your C drive, open the "Program Files" folder, then "McAfee.com," then "agent," and finally "app." Looks for any files that have the .adf file extension and delete them all. When you have finished, go back to "Add/Remove Programs" and uninstall McAfee.
